Nightre Expansion: New Game Plus Strategies
Embarking on New Game Plus (NG+) in Elden Ring Nightre offers a fresh challenge and the opportunity to refine your build and explore previously missed content. The world of the Nightre becomes even more perilous, with enemies possessing increased health, damage, and often new attack patterns. To succeed, focus on leveraging your accumulated knowledge and resources from your initial playthrough.
Build Optimization: Before diving into NG+, ensure your primary build is as optimized as possible. This means having high Vigor, Endurance, and your main damage-scaling stats. Experiment with different weapon arts and Ashes of War that you may not have utilized before. Consider a build that can handle a wider range of enemy resistances, as some foes may have shifted their weaknesses or immunities in NG+.
Resource Management: All your acquired Runes, Flask charges, and upgrade materials will reset to their base levels for your character's stats and equipment. However, you retain all your key items, spells, incantations, and most importantly, your knowledge of enemy placements and boss strategies. Prioritize re-acquiring key Spirit Ashes and upgrading your Flasks of Crimson and Cerulean Tears as quickly as possible. Seek out the Golden Seeds and Sacred Tears in familiar locations.
Exploration and Secrets: NG+ is the perfect time to hunt for any missed Great Runes, legendary armaments, or obscure questlines. Many NPCs and their associated quests can be completed more efficiently with prior knowledge. Pay close attention to environmental details and dialogue, as the Nightre is rife with hidden lore and optional challenges. Some bosses may have altered movesets or even new phases, so be prepared for surprises.
Boss Encounters: Bosses in NG+ will hit harder and have more health. For Godfrey, First Elden Lord (Hoarah Loux, Nightfall), his 'Shadow Tremors' will be more frequent and potent. Mastering the timing of your dodges and parries is crucial. If you struggled with a particular boss in your first playthrough, consider using powerful Spirit Ashes like the Mimic Tear or Black Knife Tiche to draw aggro and create openings. Don't underestimate the power of status effects like Frostbite or Scarlet Rot, which can significantly shorten boss fights.
New Challenges: Be aware that some areas or enemy types might have been subtly altered or enhanced. The 'Nightbound Trolls' near the 'Warmaster's Shack (Nightfall)' might be more aggressive, and the 'Nightre' enemies in general will pose a greater threat. Adapt your strategies on the fly and don't be afraid to retreat and regroup if a situation becomes overwhelming.
