Your journey truly begins in the Shrouded Limgrave. After acquiring Torrent and meeting Melina, your primary goal is to reach Stormveil Castle. Explore the 'Gatefront Ruins (Nightfall)' to find your first map fragment and the 'Whetstone Knife'. Proceed north through the 'Stormgate (Nightfall)', being wary of the Nightbound Godrick Soldiers. Before entering the castle, consider exploring the 'Weeping Peninsula (Nightfall)' to the south for additional Flask upgrades and early-game equipment. Inside Stormveil Castle, the layout is familiar but with new enemy placements and environmental hazards, such as areas of 'Shadow Mist' that drain FP. Your ultimate goal here is to defeat Godrick the Grafted (Nightfall).
