Ranni's Questline in Elden Ring Nightre
Ranni the Witch's questline is arguably one of the most intricate and rewarding in Elden Ring Nightre, offering a deep dive into the lore of the Greater Will, the Lunar Princess, and the fate of the Lands Between. Completing her quest is essential for unlocking one of the game's most significant alternate endings.
Starting Ranni's Questline:
- Meet Ranni: You first encounter Ranni in her tower at Three Sisters, north of Caria Manor, in northwestern Liurnia of the Lakes. She will initially dismiss you.
- Talk to her Servants: After Ranni dismisses you, speak to her three spectral servants: Blaidd the Half-Wolf, Iji the blacksmith, and Preceptor Seluvis.
- Blaidd's Task: Blaidd will ask you to meet him at the Mistwood Ruins in Limgrave. Here, you'll fight a Bloodhound Knight. After defeating it, speak to Blaidd again, and he will direct you to Kalé at the Church of Elleh.
- Kalé's Information: Kalé will give you the Dying Lands, Dying Stars key item, which contains a cryptic message about Ranni's true intentions.
- Return to Ranni: With this new information, return to Ranni. She will then offer you a place among her followers. Accept her offer to officially begin her questline.
Key Stages and Locations:
- The Eternal Cities: Ranni will task you with venturing into Nokron, the Eternal City, and retrieving the Fingerslayer Blade. This requires defeating Starscourage Radahn in Caelid to open the path to Nokron.
- Nokron, Eternal City: Navigate this subterranean city, facing Mimic Tears and other formidable foes. The Fingerslayer Blade is found within the Night's Sacred Ground area.
- Return to Ranni: Bring the Fingerslayer Blade back to Ranni. She will then give you the Carian Inverted Study, which allows you to access the Divine Tower of Liurnia.
- Divine Tower of Liurnia: Use the Carian Inverted Study to enter the tower and retrieve the Cursemark of Death.
- Lake of Rot: Ranni will then send you to the Lake of Rot, a hazardous area filled with Scarlet Rot. You'll need to navigate this area and defeat the Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella.
- Ainsel River Main: After the Lake of Rot, you'll proceed through Ainsel River Main. Here, you'll find a coffin that allows you to travel to a new area.
- Astel, Naturalborn of the Void: In the depths of Ainsel River, you will face Astel, a colossal boss. Defeating Astel opens the path to the Moonlight Altar.
- Moonlight Altar: Ascend to the Moonlight Altar and find a chest containing the Dark Moon Ring.
- Final Encounter: Return to Ranni's Rise. She will be gone, but a portal will appear, leading you to a final confrontation with the Moonlight Greatsword.
Rewards:
- Moonlight Greatsword: A powerful Intelligence-scaling weapon.
- Ranni's Dark Moon: A powerful sorcery.
- Access to the Age of Stars Ending: By interacting with Ranni after defeating the final boss, you can trigger her ending.
