Thops' Questline

Thops' questline is a charming and somewhat tragic narrative focused on a humble sorcerer's pursuit of knowledge and his desire to reclaim a stolen item. This questline offers a unique reward and a glimpse into the academic side of the Lands Between.

Thops can first be found at the Church of Irith in Liurnia of the Lakes, where he is lamenting the loss of his Academy Glintstone Key. He explains that he was expelled from the Raya Lucarian Academy and that his key was stolen. To progress his quest, you will need to find the Academy Glintstone Key. There are two such keys in the game: one is located on the corpse of a sorcerer near the Debate Parlor Site of Grace within the Academy of Raya Lucaria, and the other is found on a sorcerer atop a ruined building in the Village of the Albinaurics. Once you have acquired one of these keys, you can return it to Thops. He will then express his gratitude and offer you his services as a merchant, selling various sorceries. His quest continues as he attempts to gain re-entry into the Academy. You will need to find a way to help him achieve this. The ultimate goal of Thops' questline is to obtain his unique spell, Thops's Barrier, a powerful defensive incantation. This spell can be acquired by finding his remains after he has passed away. His final resting place is often near the Academy of Raya Lucaria, where he can be found with his spellbook. By interacting with his remains and obtaining his spellbook, you can then take it to Sorcerer Enia at the Roundtable Hold to trade it for Thops's Barrier. Thops's questline is a testament to the dedication of scholars and the sometimes harsh realities of academic institutions. His story is a small but memorable addition to the world of Elden Ring, offering a unique reward for those who follow his journey.
