White Mask Varre's questline is one of the earliest NPC questlines You can encounter, offering a unique path to powerful items and a glimpse into the darker side of the Lands Between. This questline is crucial for those seeking to access the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum early in the game.

Varre's quest begins at the First Step Site of Grace in Limgrave, where he is the first NPC you encounter. He is initially dismissive of the Tarnished but offers some initial guidance. To progress his quest, you must defeat Godrick the Grafted. After Godrick's defeat, Varre will move to a new location near the Rose Church in Liurnia of the Lakes. Here, he will ask you to perform a task for him: to invade other players' worlds three times using the Bloody Finger item. If you do not have the Bloody Finger, he will eventually give it to you. The Bloody Finger can be found in the Second Church of Marika in Altus Plateau, but Varre's quest provides an alternative way to acquire it. After successfully invading three players, return to Varre. He will then task you with a more sinister mission: to find and kill him. He will give you the Pureblood Knight's Medal, which allows you to teleport directly to the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum. This medal is a key item for accessing this hidden, high-level area early in the game. The final step of Varre's quest involves finding him at his new location, where he will acknowledge your service and offer you the Mohgwyn Sacred Spear or the War Surgeon's Set. Varre's questline is notable for its direct approach to acquiring powerful items and its association with Mohg, Lord of Blood. It offers a glimpse into the motivations of those who serve the demigods and provides a shortcut for players who wish to challenge themselves in later-game areas sooner.
