Rune farming is essential for leveling up and upgrading equipment. Early game, the 'Gatefront Ruins (Nightfall)' are still decent, but the 'Nightbound Trolls' near the 'Warmaster's Shack (Nightfall)' offer more. Mid-game, the 'Mohgwyn Palace (Nightfall)' area, accessible via White Mask Varre's questline, remains the most efficient. The 'Albinaurics (Nightfall)' there now drop more Runes and are vulnerable to area-of-effect attacks. The 'Sacred Relic Sword (Nightfall)' weapon art, 'Wave of Gold (Nightfall)', is still the best for this. Additionally, defeating 'Nightbound Erdtree Avatars' and 'Nightbound Deathbirds' (which now appear more frequently at night) yields significant Runes and rare crafting materials. Always use the 'Golden Scarab (Nightfall)' talisman for increased Rune acquisition.
