The Undead are a recurring enemy type in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, often found in cursed lands, ancient burial sites, and forgotten ruins. These reanimated corpses and spectral beings pose a consistent threat, requiring specific strategies to overcome their resilience.

Undead enemies come in various forms, from shambling skeletons and reanimated warriors to more spectral apparitions. Their common trait is their resistance to certain damage types and their tendency to reanimate if not properly dealt with. This means simply reducing their HP to zero might not be enough; you often need to employ methods that prevent their resurrection.

The most effective way to permanently defeat Undead enemies is by using Holy damage or specific weapon arts that can 'finish off' reanimated foes. Weapons infused with Holy damage, or spells and incantations that deal Holy damage, will not only damage them but also prevent them from rising again. If you don't have access to Holy damage, focus on staggering them and delivering a critical hit, which can sometimes prevent reanimation.
