New Game Plus (NG+)

Congratulations, Tarnished! You've conquered the Lands Between and achieved your goal. But the journey doesn't have to end there. Elden Ring's New Game Plus (NG+) mode allows you to carry over your character, gear, and stats into a more challenging version of the game, offering a fresh experience with tougher enemies and new opportunities.

New Game Plus in Elden Ring scales up the difficulty significantly. Enemies hit harder, have more health, and new challenges emerge. However, you retain your character's level, all weapons, armor, spells, Talismans, and most key items. This allows you to experiment with different builds, tackle bosses with your favorite gear, or focus on collecting items you may have missed in your first playthrough. It's the perfect way to extend your Elden Ring adventure.

What Carries Over to NG+:

  • Character Level and Stats: Your hard-earned attributes remain intact.
  • Weapons and Armor: All your collected armaments and protective gear.
  • Spells and Incantations: Your magical repertoire is fully preserved.
  • Talismans: All equipped and stored Talismans.
  • Consumables: Most items like crafting materials, runes (though enemies drop more), and consumables.
  • Spirit Ashes: Your summoned allies are ready to fight alongside you again.

What Does Not Carry Over:

  • Key Items: Quest-specific items, Keys, and certain progression items are reset.
  • Map Fragments: You'll need to rediscover the map of the Lands Between.
  • Sites of Grace Unlocked: While the first Site of Grace is always available, others will need to be reactivated.
  • NPC Quest Progress: Questlines will reset, though some items related to them might carry over.

Changes in NG+:

  • Increased Enemy Difficulty: Enemies have higher stats and deal more damage.
  • New Bosses/Variations: Some bosses may have slight variations or new attack patterns.
  • New Items/Collectibles: Certain unique items or collectibles might only appear in NG+ or later cycles.
  • Achievement/Trophy Tracking: You can work towards achievements that require multiple playthroughs or specific endings.

Starting New Game Plus is as simple as selecting the option after defeating the final boss and choosing to continue your journey. Prepare yourself for a tougher, yet familiar, challenge as you delve back into the Lands Between.
