Sites of Grace
Sites of Grace are the lifeblood of your journey through the Lands Between, serving as crucial checkpoints, resting points, and hubs for essential character management. These ethereal beacons of light are scattered throughout the world, offering respite from the constant danger and providing the means to grow stronger. Understanding their function is fundamental to survival in Elden Ring.
Upon discovering a Site of Grace, you can activate it to gain a checkpoint. Resting at a Site of Grace replenishes your HP and FP (Focus Points), refills your Flasks of Crimson Tears (HP) and Cerulean Tears (FP), and respawns most non-boss enemies in the area. More importantly, it is where you can spend your hard-earned Runes to level up your character, manage your equipped spells, and sort your inventory.
Key Functions of Sites of Grace:
- Resting and Recovery: Replenishes HP, FP, and Flask charges.
- Leveling Up: Spend Runes to increase your character's attributes (Vigor, Mind, Endurance, Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Faith, Arcane).
- Managing Flasks: Allocate your Flask charges between Crimson Tears and Cerulean Tears. You can also upgrade the potency of your Flasks using Golden Seeds and Sacred Tears.
- Memorizing Spells: Equip learned Sorceries and Incantations to your spell slots.
- Sorting Equipment: Manage your inventory, change equipped armor, weapons, and Talismans.
- Ashes of War: Apply or change the skills attached to your weapons.
- Spirit Tuning: Upgrade your Spirit Ashes using Grave/Ghost Glovewort.
- Crafting: Access the crafting menu to create items using gathered materials.
- Viewing Map and Fast Travel: Access the world map and fast travel to any previously activated Site of Grace.
- Returning to Roundtable Hold: Certain Sites of Grace will allow you to travel to the Roundtable Hold, a central hub area.
Finding and Activating Sites of Grace:
Sites of Grace are typically found in safe locations, often near important landmarks, dungeons, or after overcoming significant challenges. They emit a golden glow, making them relatively easy to spot. Activating a new Site of Grace also adds it to your fast travel network.
The number of Flask charges you have and their potency can be increased by finding Golden Seeds and Sacred Tears throughout the world. These upgrades are crucial for survivability, especially in later areas of the game. Always ensure you have a nearby Site of Grace before engaging in difficult combat or exploring dangerous territory.
