Upon arriving in Limgrave, your first steps are crucial for setting up your adventure. After speaking with White-Faced Varré near the First Step Site of Grace, head west to the Church of Elleh to meet Merchant Kalé. Be cautious of the Tree Sentinel roaming nearby; while optional, defeating him yields a useful item.
Initial Steps in Limgrave
- Speak with White-Faced Varré: Located near the First Step Site of Grace.
- Visit Merchant Kalé at the Church of Elleh: Find him at the Church of Elleh, located to the west.
- Acquire Fringefolk's Rune: Check the base of the crucifix outside the front entrance of the Church of Elleh.
- Consider the Tree Sentinel: This optional boss roams near the Church of Elleh. He is a large knight on horseback with shiny golden armor.
- Rest at Sites of Grace: Rest at 3 different Sites of Grace in the overworld to get your horse.
Early Quests and Encounters
- D, Hunter of the Dead: Find him mourning over a dead body northeast of the lake, across the bridge from Stormveil Castle. He warns about Summonwater Village.
- Tibia Mariner: Defeat him in Summonwater Village to get Deathroot.
- Mistwood Ruins and Blaidd: Go to the Mistwood Ruins (southwest of the Minor Erdtree). Hear howling and see a figure on a tower. At night, visit the Church of Elleh to talk to Renna for the Summoning Bell, then Merchant Kalé for the Finger Snap Emote. Use Finger Snap at Mistwood Ruins to summon Blaidd.
- Bloodhound Knight Darriwil: Blaidd is looking for Darriwil. Find the Forlorn Hound Evergaol southeast of the lake, west of the bridge on a hill. Defeat Darriwil there. An extra reward is given if you defeat him without Blaidd's help. Talk to Blaidd after.
- Sorcerer Rogier: In the northwest section of Stormveil Castle, find him in the Chapel.
- After Godrick: Rest at Liftside Chamber, then go right out the door to find a corpse on the edge. Descend from this ledge. Navigate through, being wary of a massive monster. Activate Rogier's bloodstain at the end of the path.
