These Great Runes are essential to repairing the Elden Ring and ascending to the throne.

The main progression generally follows this path:

1. Limgrave: Begin in Limgrave, learn the basics, and make your way to Stormveil Castle to defeat Godrick the Grafted. This is your first major boss and grants you a Great Rune.
2. Liurnia of the Lakes: After Limgrave, you'll likely venture into Liurnia. Navigate the Raya Lucaria Academy to defeat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon. While she is a shardbearer, her Great Rune is not strictly required for the main path to Elden Lord, but her defeat is crucial for other story elements.
