Mountaintops of the Giants & Crumbling Farum Azula

The Mountaintops of the Giants is a crucial late-game area, accessible after defeating the boss at the Erdtree and acquiring the necessary medallion for the Grand Lift of Rold. This region leads to significant story progression and optional challenges, including the Crumbling Farum Azula. Prepare for challenging bosses and intricate questlines that impact the game's ending.

To reach the Mountaintops of the Giants, defeat the Erdtree boss to obtain the medallion for the Grand Lift of Rold. Head North-East through Leyndell to find the lift. Once in the Mountaintops, a key step for the Volcano Manor questline involves finding a Red Summon Sign near the Shack of the Lofty. This sign guides you to Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood. Defeating him allows you to return to Tanith, who will transport you to a boss area. Here, you can use the Serpent Hunter weapon to defeat both phases of the boss. After this, speak with Bernahl and Patches, then find Rya, who will leave a note and reward. Returning to the manor will find it empty, but you can purchase Ashes from the sword where Bernahl sat. Tanith can be found in the boss room; speaking to her and then defeating her and her knight concludes this part.

Later, upon reaching Crumbling Farum Azula, proceed until you reach the Beside the Great Bridge Grace. On the bridge, go left and follow the path to its end to be invaded by Recusant Bernahl. Defeating him ties up a final loose end. Crumbling Farum Azula is a Legacy Dungeon that exists outside of time, with lore suggesting Gurranq and Maliketh are the same entity, though killing Maliketh does not affect Gurranq due to this temporal anomaly.
