Spirit Ash Farming

While many Spirit Ashes can be found through exploration and questing, some players may wish to acquire specific summons or upgrade materials more efficiently. This guide focuses on strategies for farming Spirit Ashes and the necessary upgrade materials, Grave and Ghost Gloveworts, to enhance your spectral companions.

Farming Spirit Ashes themselves is less common, as most unique and powerful ashes are tied to specific locations or questlines. However, if you're looking for a particular standard Spirit Ash or want to ensure you have a good variety, exploration of dungeons is key. Catacombs and caves are your primary hunting grounds for these summons.

The more practical aspect of 'farming' related to Spirit Ashes is acquiring their upgrade materials: Grave Glovewort and Ghost Glovewort. These are essential for increasing the effectiveness of your summoned spirits. Grave Gloveworts are used for standard Spirit Ashes, while Ghost Gloveworts are for unique, more powerful ones.

Farming Grave Glovewort:

Grave Gloveworts are found in various catacombs and underground areas. They often appear as glowing, spectral flowers or clusters. The higher the number of the Grave Glovewort (e.g., Grave Glovewort [1] vs. Grave Glovewort [7]), the rarer and more valuable it is.

  • Early Game Farming: The easiest Grave Gloveworts to farm are typically found in the early-game catacombs. For example, the Summonwater Village Cemetery in East Limgrave contains a few Grave Gloveworts. The Black Knife Catacombs in Liurnia also offers a good early source.
  • Mid-Game Farming: As you progress to areas like Liurnia of the Lakes and Caelid, you'll find more catacombs with higher-tier Grave Gloveworts. The Spiritcaller Cave in Liurnia, which rewards the Lone Wolf Ashes, also contains Grave Gloveworts.
  • Late-Game Farming: The Mountaintops of the Giants and Crumbling Farum Azula contain the highest-tier Grave Gloveworts, essential for maxing out your favorite Spirit Ashes.

Farming Ghost Glovewort:

Ghost Gloveworts are rarer and are typically found in more challenging catacombs or associated with specific enemies. They are crucial for upgrading unique Spirit Ashes like the Mimic Tear or Black Knife Tiche.

  • Early Game: Ghost Gloveworts are scarce early on. You might find one or two in some of the more difficult early catacombs, such as the Fringefolk Hero's Grave (requires Stonesword Keys).
  • Mid-Game: Liurnia and Caelid offer more opportunities. The Raya Lucaria Academy has some Ghost Gloveworts, and certain catacombs in Caelid will contain them.
  • Late-Game: The Mountaintops of the Giants and Crumbling Farum Azula are the primary sources for high-tier Ghost Gloveworts.

General Farming Tips:

  • Focus on Catacombs: These underground dungeons are the most consistent source of Gloveworts.
  • Use a Map: Keep track of the catacombs you've cleared and the Gloveworts you've found. Online maps can be invaluable for this.
  • Clear the Dungeon: Often, the best Gloveworts are found near the boss or in hidden areas within the catacombs.
  • Roderika at Roundtable Hold: Once Roderika moves to the Roundtable Hold, she becomes your primary NPC for upgrading Spirit Ashes. Ensure you give her the Spirit Jellyfish Ashes to trigger her dialogue and unlock her full services.

While direct Spirit Ash farming is limited, the diligent pursuit of Grave and Ghost Gloveworts will significantly empower your summoned allies, making them even more formidable in the Lands Between.
