The elven races, or Mer, boast a long and storied history across Tamriel, each with distinct cultures and inherent magical or martial aptitudes. Their longevity and connection to ancient traditions often translate into unique racial bonuses that can define a character's path.

Altmer, also known as High Elves, originate from the Summerset Isles and are widely considered the most magically gifted race. Their innate Highborn ability grants them a sificant boost to magicka regeneration, allowing for more sustained spellcasting. Altmer often start with higher magicka pools and excel in destruction, illusion, and conjuration magic. Their natural affinity for the arcane makes them prime candidates for powerful mages.
