Secret Societies: Dark Brotherhood, Vigilants of Stendarr
Beyond the more public guilds, Tamriel is home to clandestine organizations with their own unique agendas and methods. The Dark Brotherhood, the infamous guild of assassins, is almost certainly a possibility in The Elder Scrolls VI. If they appear, expect a path filled with moral ambiguity and deadly contracts. Joining the Brotherhood would involve learning the Five Tenets and undertaking missions to eliminate targets across the land. Success would depend on stealth, discretion, and a willingness to embrace the shadowy side of adventuring. The rewards can be substantial, but the risks are equally high, as failure often means facing the wrath of the Brotherhood itself or its victims.
On the opposite end of the spectrum are the Vigilants of Stendarr. These devout followers of the Nine Divines are dedicated to protecting Tamriel from daedric threats and other abominations. If present, they would likely be found in remote outposts or actively hunting down cultists and dangerous creatures. Players who al with the Vigilants would engage in quests focused on eradicating evil, cleansing corrupted areas, and defending the innocent. Their methods are often direct and confrontational, involving heavy armor, divine blessings, and a strong sense of righteous purpose. Interacting with these secret societies can lead to some of the most compelling and challenging questlines in the Elder Scrolls series. Your choices within these groups will have sificant repercussions, potentially altering your reputation, unlocking unique abilities, and even influencing the fate of entire regions. Be prepared for difficult decisions and the potential for both great reward and dire consequence when dealing with these hidden powers.
