Core Internal Modules
The core internal modules are the fundamental systems that enable your ship to function and traverse the galaxy in Elite Dangerous. These are non-optional components that are integral to every vessel, dictating its basic capabilities and performance. The Power Plant is the heart of your ship, generating the electrical power required for all other systems to operate. Without an adequate power supply, your ship is effectively dead in the water. Thrusters are responsible for your ship's movement, providing the propulsion needed for maneuvering within systems and during combat. The Frame Shift Drive (FSD) is your gateway to interstellar travel, allowing you to jump between star systems via hyperspace.
Life Support systems are critical for maintaining a breathable atmosphere within your cockpit, providing a limited oxygen supply in case of emergencies. The Power Distributor is a vital module that allows you to allocate power to your ship's three primary systems: Engines, Weapons, and Systems (shields and utilities). Efficiently managing power distribution is key to maximizing your ship's performance in combat and during critical maneuvers. Sensors are responsible for detecting other ships, celestial bodies, and points of interest within your vicinity, providing you with essential tactical information. The integrity and performance of these core internal modules are paramount, and their upgrades, often through the Engineering system, can dramatically improve your ship's overall effectiveness and survivability.
