In Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, Lily's progression isn't tied to a traditional skill tree but rather to the spirits she purifies and equips, along with enhancements found throughout the blighted land of Land's End. Understanding how to effectively utilize and upgrade these spirits is crucial for overcoming the formidable Blighted creatures and ultimately purifying the kingdom.
Spirit Acquisition and Equipping
Lily's primary offensive and defensive capabilities come from the spirits of fallen knights and other inhabitants she purifies. These spirits act as her abilities, each with unique attacks, defensive maneuvers, or utility skills. You can equip up to three spirits at a time: two "Main" spirits for primary attacks and one "Sub" spirit for a secondary, often more powerful, ability with a cooldown.
- Main Spirits: These are your bread-and-butter attacks. Examples include the Fallen Knight (a reliable sword attack) and the Umbral Knight (a powerful, slow-swinging greatsword). Experiment to find combinations that suit your playstyle.
- Sub Spirits: These often have longer cooldowns but offer significant utility or damage. The Gerrod, the Elder Warrior spirit, for instance, provides a devastating charge attack, while the Siegrid, the Witch offers ranged magical projectiles.
- Acquisition: Most spirits are obtained by defeating Bosses or Mini-Bosses. Upon their defeat, Lily will purify their remnant, granting her their spirit. Keep an eye out for glowing remnants after challenging encounters!
Spirit Enhancement: Blight Fragments and Stagnant Blight
To increase the effectiveness of your spirits, you'll need to enhance them using specific resources. This is where the core of your character progression lies.
Blight Fragments
Blight Fragments are essential for increasing a spirit's level, which in turn boosts its damage output, reduces cooldowns, or enhances its utility. There are different tiers of Blight Fragments, with higher tiers required for higher spirit levels.
- Common Blight Fragments: Dropped by regular enemies throughout Land's End. Farm areas with high enemy density, such as the Catacombs or the Stockade, for a steady supply.
- Greater Blight Fragments: Found in chests, as rewards for completing certain challenges, or dropped by stronger elite enemies. Explore thoroughly, especially in hidden passages within areas like the Verboten Domain.
- Pure Blight Fragments: The rarest fragments, typically found in late-game areas or as rewards for defeating major bosses. These are crucial for maxing out your most powerful spirits.
- Enhancement Process: To enhance a spirit, navigate to the "Spirits" menu from a Respite. Select the spirit you wish to upgrade and consume the required Blight Fragments. Each level increase provides a noticeable boost.
Stagnant Blight
Stagnant Blight is a rarer resource used to unlock additional abilities or passive enhancements for certain spirits. Not all spirits have these, but for those that do, they can significantly alter their functionality.
- Location: Stagnant Blight is primarily found in hidden areas, often behind breakable walls or requiring specific movement abilities to reach. Look for suspicious-looking cracks in walls in areas like the Twin Spires or the Dark Chamber.
- Usage: Once acquired, return to a Respite and access the "Spirits" menu. If a spirit has an unlockable ability, it will be indicated. Consume the Stagnant Blight to activate it. For example, some spirits might gain an additional attack combo or a passive regeneration effect.
Relics: Passive Enhancements
Beyond spirits, Lily's capabilities are further augmented by Relics. These are passive items that provide various buffs, from increased damage and defense to utility effects like faster healing or extended dodge invincibility frames.
- Acquisition: Relics are found throughout Land's End, often in well-hidden chests, as rewards for defeating optional bosses, or sometimes given by friendly NPCs. Thorough exploration is key. Check every nook and cranny in areas like the Underground Sorcery Lab.
- Equipping: Lily has a limited number of "Relic Slots." More slots can be unlocked by finding Amulet Fragments, which combine to form a full Amulet, granting an additional slot. Prioritize relics that complement your chosen spirits and playstyle. For instance, if you rely on melee, equip relics that boost melee damage. If you prefer ranged combat, look for relics that enhance projectile damage or range.
- Key Relics to Seek:
- HP Up Relic: Increases Lily's maximum health. Essential for survivability.
- Attack Up Relic: Boosts the damage of all your spirits.
- Defense Up Relic: Reduces incoming damage.
- Stamina Up Relic: Increases the number of dodges Lily can perform before needing to recover.
- Spirit Gauge Recovery Relic: Speeds up the recovery of your Sub Spirit's cooldown.
Prayer and Healing
Lily's primary method of healing is through Prayer. The effectiveness of her prayer is determined by the number of Amulet Fragments she collects. Each fragment increases the amount of HP restored per prayer use. These fragments are often found in challenging platforming sections or hidden behind puzzles.
By diligently exploring, purifying spirits, enhancing them with Blight Fragments and Stagnant Blight, and equipping beneficial Relics, Lily will grow into a formidable force capable of cleansing the blight from Land's End.
