Defensive Modules

Effective defense is as crucial as offense. The main defensive modules are: Shields protect against Energy weapons. Higher shield strength means more damage absorbed. Armor protects against Kinetic weapons. Higher armor rating reduces kinetic damage. Flak defenses intercept incoming missiles, reducing their effectiveness. Repair Modules slowly regenerate hull points during combat. A balanced defensive loadout is often best, but you can specialize if you know your enemy's primary weapon type. For example, if you're fighting the Sophons (who favor Energy weapons), stack Shields.
