Enshrouded features a classless skill tree, meaning you are not locked into a specific role. Instead, you can mix and match skills from different branches to create a hybrid build that suits your preferences. The skill tree is divided into several main branches, each focusing on different aspects of combat and utility:

- Warrior/Tank: Focuses on melee damage, health, and defense. Key skills include increased armor, parry bonuses, and health regeneration.
- Ranger/Archer: Specializes in ranged combat with bows and arrows. Skills enhance bow damage, critical hit chance, and evasion.
- Mage/Wizard: Utilizes staffs and spells for elemental damage and crowd control. Skills boost spell damage, mana regeneration, and magical resistance.
- Survivor/Utility: Offers skills related to crafting, resource gathering, stamina management, and general survival.
As you level up, you gain skill points that can be invested in these branches. It's recommended to specialize in one or two branches initially to maximize effectiveness, then branch out for utility skills as needed. Experiment with different combinations to find what works best for your playstyle.
