Enshrouded features a clear biome progression system, similar to games like Valheim, where advancing through biomes unlocks higher-tier materials, stronger enemies, new quests, and better gear. Your progression is tied to completing main story quests, Craftspeople quests, your player level, and most importantly, your Flame Level. Failing to meet the required Flame Level will prevent you from entering certain Shrouded areas and biomes. The level ranges for enemies are also an important indicator of difficulty.
The biomes in Enshrouded, in order of progression, are:
