The Shroud is a pervasive, dangerous fog that covers much of Embervale. Entering the Shroud is perilous, as it drains your life force over time. Your survival time within the Shroud is indicated by a timer on your screen. When this timer runs out, you will die. To extend your time in the Shroud, you need to upgrade your Flame Altar's Flame Level. Each Flame Level increase grants you more time within the Shroud, allowing you to explore deeper and access new areas.
