Workbench

The Workbench is one of the first essential crafting stations you'll build in Enshrouded, forming the backbone of your early-game crafting capabilities. It allows you to create a wide array of fundamental items, from tools and weapons to building components and basic armor.

The Workbench is a cornerstone of progression in Enshrouded. Without it, your ability to craft anything beyond the most rudimentary items is severely limited. Upon constructing your first Workbench, you'll unlock a host of new crafting recipes. These recipes are crucial for gathering resources more efficiently, defending yourself against early threats, and building the foundations of your base. The Workbench itself requires basic materials to construct, typically wood and some plant fiber. Once placed, it acts as a hub for all your crafting needs, provided you have the necessary resources and have unlocked the relevant recipes through exploration or by finding skill books.

To craft a Workbench:

Gather 4 Wood Logs and 8 Plant Fibers.
Open your Building Menu (default key 'B').
Navigate to the 'Crafting Stations' tab.
Select the Workbench and place it in a suitable location.

Once placed, interacting with the Workbench will open its crafting interface. Here, you'll see a list of available recipes. Initially, this list will be relatively short, but it will expand as you discover new materials and unlock new crafting knowledge. Common early-game items you can craft at the Workbench include:

Stone Axe: For more efficient wood gathering.
Stone Pickaxe: For more efficient stone and ore gathering.
Wooden Club: A basic melee weapon.
Flint Spear: A basic ranged weapon.
Basic Armor Pieces: Offering minimal protection.
Building Components: Such as wooden walls, floors, and roofs.

the Workbench is just the first of many crafting stations you'll encounter. As you progress, you'll unlock more advanced stations like the Smelter, Forge, and Carpenter's Table, each with its own unique set of recipes and crafting capabilities. However, the Workbench remains a vital station throughout the game, especially for crafting common consumables and repair materials.

Keep an eye out for skill books scattered throughout the world. Many of these books contain new crafting recipes that will be added to your Workbench's repertoire upon discovery. Prioritize crafting the essential tools and weapons first to improve your resource gathering and combat effectiveness.
