Enemies by Biome

Navigating the diverse and dangerous biomes of Enshrouded requires a keen understanding of the threats that lurk within. Each region presents unique challenges, from the shambling horrors of the early game to the formidable beasts of the more advanced areas. This guide breaks down the common enemies you'll encounter by biome, offering strategies and loot to help you survive.

The Springlands

The starting biome is relatively forgiving, but don't let its lush appearance fool you. Even here, danger is ever-present.

Common Enemies:

  • Scavengers: These humanoid enemies are often found in small groups near abandoned structures and roads. They wield crude melee weapons and can be easily dispatched with basic attacks. Loot: Scraps, Twigs, occasionally basic armor pieces.
  • Infected: Slow-moving, zombie-like creatures that are susceptible to headshots. They often appear in clusters, especially in darker areas or near Shrouded zones. Loot: Bones, Shroud Spores (essential for early game crafting).
  • Wolves: Fast and aggressive, wolves attack in packs. Their pounce attack can quickly close the distance. Dodging their lunges and using area-of-effect attacks can be effective. Loot: Raw Meat, Wolf Pelts.

Strategy:

Focus on ranged combat if possible to kite wolves. For Scavengers and Infected, prioritize headshots to conserve ammunition and deal critical damage. Always be aware of your surroundings, as ambushes are common.

The Blackened Bogs

This swampy, toxic region is characterized by its oppressive Shroud and mutated creatures. The air itself is a hazard, so ensure you have Shroud protection.

Common Enemies:

  • Bog Lurkers: Amphibious creatures that emerge from the murky waters. They have a ranged spitting attack and a powerful melee strike. Keep your distance and dodge their lunges. Loot: Bones, Bog Water, occasionally Bog Lurker Eyes.
  • Shrouded Infected: More potent versions of the basic Infected, often found within the Shroud. They are tougher and may have ranged Shroud attacks. Loot: Shroud Spores, Bones, higher chance of Shroud-infused materials.
  • Giant Spiders: These arachnids can poison you with their bite. Their rapid movements and web-slinging attacks make them a nuisance. Fire damage is particularly effective against them. Loot: Spider Silk, Bones, Spider Venom Glands.

Strategy:

Maintain Shroud protection at all times. use fire-based weapons or spells against spiders. For Bog Lurkers, strafe to avoid their attacks and strike when they are recovering. Prioritize eliminating Shrouded Infected quickly to avoid accumulating Shroud.

The Revelwood

A dense forest biome with ancient ruins and a higher concentration of aggressive fauna and corrupted beings.

Common Enemies:

  • Risen: Undead warriors often found guarding ancient ruins. They are heavily armored and wield powerful melee weapons. Blocking or parrying their attacks is crucial. Loot: Bones, Scraps, occasionally Risen Armor pieces.
  • Shrouded Bears: Large, territorial beasts that hit hard and can charge. Their attacks have a wide radius. Use the environment to your advantage, ducking behind trees to break line of sight and heal. Loot: Raw Meat, Bear Pelts, Bear Claws.
  • Forest Sprites: Small, agile creatures that can be difficult to hit. They often attack in groups and can cast minor elemental spells. Knockback effects are useful for controlling them. Loot: Twigs, Leaves, occasionally Sprite Dust.

Strategy:

For Risen, focus on parrying and counter-attacking. Against Shrouded Bears, kite them and use hit-and-run tactics. For Forest Sprites, crowd control is key; use AoE attacks or weapons with knockback to keep them at bay.
