Establishing your own farm is essential for a sustainable supply of food, potions, and crafting ingredients. The Farmer Craftsperson, once rescued, will provide you with the necessary tools and recipes to begin farming. Here's how to set up your farm:
- Rescue the Farmer: Complete the Farmer's rescue quest to unlock farming recipes.
- Craft a Seedbed: The Seedbed is where you turn harvested plants into seeds. You'll need materials like Wood Planks and Dirt.
- Acquire Seeds: Harvest wild plants to obtain their seeds. Some plants may require specific tools or conditions to drop seeds.
- Craft Farm Soil: You'll need to craft fertile soil blocks to place your seeds. This often requires Dirt, Bonemeal (from Bones), and other organic materials.
- Plant Seeds: Place the farm soil blocks in your base area, then interact with them to plant your seeds.
- Water & Grow: Plants will grow over time. Some may require watering (though rain can also help).
Different crops have different growth times and yields. Prioritize crops that provide ingredients for your most used consumables (e.g., berries for health, flax for linen). As you progress, the Farmer will offer recipes for advanced farming structures and more diverse crops, allowing you to cultivate a wide variety of resources directly at your base.
