Extracting from a raid is the ultimate goal in Escape from Tarkov. Successfully navigating the map, surviving encounters, and reaching an extraction point with your loot is paramount. However, not all exfils are straightforward; many have specific requirements that players must meet before they can leave the raid.
Extraction points, or 'exfils,' are desated locations on each map where You can choose to end their raid. These are clearly marked on your in-game map. Some exfils are always available, while others are 'conditional' or 'player-activated,' meaning they require specific actions or items to be used. Understanding these requirements is crucial to avoid being stranded or caught off guard.
Types of Extraction Points:
- Always Available Exfils: These are the most common and reliable exfils. You can extract at any time as long as you reach the location. Examples include Road to Customs on Customs and ZB-014 on Woods.
- Conditional Exfils: These exfils require specific items or conditions to be met. Examples include:
- Gate 3 to Trailer Park (Customs): Requires payment of 5,000 Roubles.
- Factory Gate (Customs): Requires a Factory Key.
- Emercom Medical Unit (Interchange): Requires a specific medical item (e.g., Salewa) or a payment.
- Trailer Park (Woods): Requires a specific key (e.g., Trailer Park Key).
- Player-Activated Exfils: These exfils require players to perform an action to activate them, often involving a timer. Examples include:
- RUAF Roadblock (Customs): Requires a player to interact with a lever or pay a fee.
- Power Station (Shoreline): Requires the power to be turned on at the main power station.
- Random/Timed Exfils: Some exfils only become available at certain times during the raid or have a limited number of uses.
Key Considerations for Exfils:
- Map Knowledge: Knowing the location of all exfils on a map is fundamental.
- Item Requirements: Always check your map for conditional exfils and ensure you have the necessary keys, items, or Roubles.
- Player Activity: Exfils are common ambush points for players looking to catch exiting PMCs. Always approach with caution, check your surroundings, and listen for nearby sounds.
- Time Management: Don't leave your exfil to the last minute. Factor in travel time and potential delays.
- Scav Exfils: Player Scavs have their own unique exfils that PMCs cannot use.
How to Find Exfil Information:
Your in-game map is your primary tool. When you open it, available exfils will be clearly marked. Conditional exfils will often have an icon indicating a requirement (e.g., a key symbol, a Rouble symbol). Hovering over these icons may provide more specific details.
