Interchange Map Guide

Interchange is a sprawling, indoor-focused urban map in Escape from Tarkov, known for its massive shopping mall and surrounding industrial areas. It's a high-traffic location, offering excellent loot opportunities but also presenting significant PvP risks. Understanding its layout, key loot spawns, and common engagement points is crucial for successful raids, whether you're a Scav or a PMC.

The centerpiece of Interchange is the Ultra Shopping Mall, a multi-level complex filled with various stores. Key areas within the mall include the Tech Store (selling high-tier electronics), the Goshan supermarket (for food and medical supplies), and numerous smaller shops offering several loot. The mall's interior is a maze of aisles, escalators, and backrooms, making it easy to get disoriented or ambushed.

Outside the mall, the map features industrial zones, parking garages, and power stations. These areas often contain valuable spawns for weapon parts, fuel, and other high-tier loot. The parking garage, in particular, is a notorious hotspot for player encounters due to its numerous entry and exit points and its proximity to the mall.

Key locations and loot spawns:

  • Ultra Shopping Mall: High-tier electronics (Tech Store), food, medical supplies, general loot.
  • Power Station: Fuel, weapon parts, potential for high-tier spawns.
  • Parking Garage: Weapon parts, potential for high-tier loot, high player traffic.
  • Oli Supermarket: Food, medical supplies, general loot.
  • Buried Barrels: Scattered throughout the map, often contain valuable consumables.
  • Computer Towers: Found in offices and Tech Store, can spawn valuable components like Graphics Cards.

Extraction points on Interchange vary and often require specific conditions or items. Common extractions include:

  • Emercom Medical Unit: Standard extraction, often contested.
  • Railway Station: Requires a specific key or can be a timed extraction.
  • Tent: Located in the industrial area, requires a specific item to activate.
  • East and West Wings: Mall-specific extractions, often requiring players to navigate dangerous areas.

Interchange is a map where sound plays a critical role. The echoing nature of the mall can make it difficult to pinpoint enemy locations, but also allows you to hear approaching players. Be cautious when moving through open areas and always check your corners. The constant threat of player scavs and PMCs means that vigilance is key.

For PMC players, the goal is often to loot the mall's high-tier areas or the industrial zones. For Scav players, the focus is usually on opportunistic looting and survival, often targeting less contested areas or players who have already engaged others.
