Beyond the main cities and their immediate surroundings, Albion holds numerous secrets and requests from its more eccentric inhabitants. These quests often lead to unique rewards, valuable items, or simply add to the rich tapestry of Fable III's world. side quests found in less populated regions or those that don't fit neatly into a single geographical area.

The Gnome Problem

This quest begins in Brightwall Village after you've completed the "Gnomageddon" quest. A new set of mischievous gnomes has appeared, and the Gnomeologist needs your help to silence them once and for all. These gnomes are often hidden in plain sight or require a keen eye to spot.

  • Quest Giver: The Gnomeologist, located in Brightwall Village.
  • Objective: Destroy 50 gnomes scattered across Albion.
  • Strategy:
    • Gnomes emit a distinctive taunting sound when you are nearby, so listen carefully.
    • Many gnomes are found in areas you've already visited for main quests or other side quests. Revisit places like the Mistpeak Valley, Aurora, and the Shifting Sands.
    • Use your ranged weapon (gun or spell) to destroy them. Melee attacks are often ineffective due to their small size and awkward locations.
    • Check high places, under bridges, inside buildings, and behind waterfalls.
    • Reward: Gnome Chomper (Legendary Hammer) upon destroying all 50.

The Ancient Tome

A scholar in Brightwall Academy is desperate to recover a lost ancient book, rumored to hold powerful knowledge. This quest involves a treasure hunt across several regions.

  • Quest Giver: Professor Faraday, inside Brightwall Academy.
  • Objective: Locate and return "The Ancient Tome."
  • Walkthrough:
    1. Speak to Professor Faraday in Brightwall Academy to initiate the quest.
    2. He will give you a cryptic clue pointing towards the first location. The first clue leads to a hidden alcove in the Mourningwood region, near the entrance to the Ossuary.
    3. Inside the alcove, you'll find a small chest containing the next clue.
    4. The second clue directs you to the Shifting Sands. Head to the large ruined structure in the center of the desert. The clue is hidden behind a crumbling wall on the western side.
    5. The final clue will lead you to the Driftwood region. You'll need to gain access to Driftwood first, which is typically done through the "Pest Control" quest. Once there, the clue is buried near the shipwreck on the main island.
    6. Dig up "The Ancient Tome" at the shipwreck location.
    7. Return to Professor Faraday in Brightwall Academy to complete the quest.
  • Reward: 50 Guild Seals and the "Scholar's Wisdom" Augment (increases experience gain from books).

Driftwood: The Missing Villagers

After you've helped the people of Driftwood establish their new home, they'll occasionally have new problems. This quest involves finding a group of villagers who have wandered off into a dangerous part of the island.

  • Quest Giver: Mayor Calvin, in Driftwood.
  • Objective: Find the missing Driftwood villagers and ensure their safe return.
  • Walkthrough:
    1. Speak to Mayor Calvin in Driftwood. He'll inform you that several villagers have gone missing while exploring the uncharted parts of the island.
    2. Follow the glowing trail, which will lead you to a small cave entrance on the northern side of Driftwood, past the main settlement.
    3. Enter the cave. You'll encounter several groups of Hobbes and Hollow Men. Be prepared for combat.
    4. Deep inside the cave, you'll find the missing villagers trapped behind a rockfall.
    5. Clear out the remaining enemies in the area.
    6. To clear the rockfall, you'll need to use the "Shock" spell (or any area-of-effect spell) on the unstable rocks.
    7. Once the path is clear, speak to the villagers. They will automatically return to Driftwood.
    8. Return to Mayor Calvin to report your success.
  • Reward: 30 Guild Seals and a choice between a large sum of gold or a rare gem (e.g., a Diamond).
