The Core Gameplay Loop

Fall Guys is primarily a battle royale game. A large number of players (beans) start a show, and through a series of elimination rounds, the number of contestants is whittled down until only one remains victorious.

Main Game Modes (Playlists)

Fall Guys features several primary playlists, each with a curated selection of rounds:

  • Main Show: This is the classic Fall Guys experience. You'll play through a series of random rounds, aiming to be the last bean standing. It typically includes a mix of race, survival, and team rounds.
  • Squads: In Squads mode, you team up with up to three other friends. Your squad's success is measured collectively, and you aim to have at least one member of your squad qualify from each round to advance. This mode emphasizes teamwork and coordination.
  • Duos: Similar to Squads, but you play with just one other partner. It's a great way to experience teamwork with a closer bond.
  • Solo Show: This mode is for the lone wolves. You compete against other individual players, and only the winner of the final round claims the Crown. It's a pure test of individual skill.

Types of Rounds within Game Modes

Within these playlists, you'll encounter various round types, each with distinct objectives:

  • Race Rounds: The most common type. Your goal is to reach the finish line before a certain number of other players. These often involve navigating complex obstacle courses. Examples include: Dizzy Heights, Slime Climb, The Swag Chute.
  • Survival Rounds: In these rounds, you must avoid elimination for a set period or until a specific condition is met. Staying alive is the only objective. Examples include: Jump Club, Block Party, Hex-A-Gone.
  • Logic Rounds: These rounds test your memory, observation, or pattern recognition. You need to make correct choices based on visual or auditory cues. Examples include: Perfect Match, Sum Fruit, Ring Hexathlon.
  • Team Rounds: You are divided into teams and must work together to achieve a common goal, such as scoring points or defending an objective. Examples include: Fall Ball, Hoarders, Egg Scramble.
  • Final Rounds: The climactic rounds that determine the ultimate winner of a show. These are typically high-stakes and challenging. Examples include: Fall Mountain, Hex-A-Gone (often a final), Jump Showdown.

Limited Time Shows and Special Events

Fall Guys frequently introduces Limited Time Shows that offer unique twists on existing modes or introduce entirely new gameplay experiences. These can range from specific round-focused events to themed challenges with exclusive rewards.

Understanding the Objective is Key

For any round, always take a moment at the start to understand the objective. Is it a race? Do you need to survive? Is it a team effort? Knowing the goal will dictate your strategy and increase your chances of qualifying.
