The Art of the Grab
Grabbing is a double-edged sword. It can be used for good or for griefing. Here's how to use it strategically:
- Holding Ledges: As mentioned, grabbing ledges is essential for recovery.
- Team Game Objectives: In rounds like Fall Ball, grabbing an opponent near your goal can prevent them from scoring. In Hoopsie Daisy, grabbing a player who is about to jump through a hoop can deny them points.
- Tail Tag: Grabbing is the only way to get a tail. Time your grabs carefully, aiming for when an opponent is slightly off-balance or cornered.
- Final Rounds (Risky!): In Jump Showdown or Hex-A-Gone, some players attempt to grab and throw opponents off. This is extremely high-risk, as it leaves you vulnerable and can easily backfire. Only attempt if you are highly confident and have a significant lead.
- Avoid in Races: Generally, avoid grabbing in pure race rounds, as it slows both you and your target down, often benefiting neither.
Use grabbing judiciously; it's a tool, not a constant action.
