Advanced Movement Techniques

Mastering the Bean's Physics

  • Dive-Jumping: This is perhaps the most crucial advanced technique. Jump, and then immediately dive at the peak of your jump. This extends your horizontal distance, allowing you to clear larger gaps, reach higher ledges, and gain a burst of speed. Practice this extensively.
  • Ledge Grabbing: When falling or jumping towards a ledge, hold the grab button. Your bean can often latch onto the edge, allowing you to pull yourself up. This is a lifesaver in many rounds, especially those with verticality.
  • Stumble Recovery: If you trip or get knocked down, immediately mash the jump button and/or dive. This can help you recover faster and prevent you from being eliminated.
  • Wall Bouncing: In some race rounds, you can use walls to slightly alter your trajectory or gain a small speed boost by running into them at an angle. This is highly situational but can be effective.
  • Conveyor Belt Management: On conveyor belts, jumping can sometimes be faster than just running, especially if you can chain dive-jumps. Experiment with different approaches on each conveyor.
