Upon entering the Temple, you'll face a series of challenges. This serves as a tutorial for basic combat and interaction. Your goal is to retrieve the 'G.E.C.K.' from the final chamber.

- Combat Training: You'll encounter a few giant ants and scorpions. Use your spear and basic combat skills. Remember to target specific body parts for critical hits (right-click to cycle target options).
- Lockpicking/Traps: There's a locked door and a trapped chest. Use your Lockpick skill (if you have it) or find the key. Disarm the trap if your Traps skill is high enough, otherwise, take the damage.
- Dialogue/Skill Check: You'll meet a spirit. You can either fight it or pass a Speech/Intelligence check to convince it to let you pass.
- Final Chamber: Defeat the final guardian (a large scorpion or similar creature). Retrieve the 'G.E.C.K.' (which is actually a rock) from the pedestal.
After completing the trial, return to the Elder. She will give you a Pip-Boy 2000, a Vault 13 Canteen, and some starting supplies. You are now ready to leave Arroyo.
