Starting the Quest
To initiate "Secrets Revealed," you must first complete the "Hunter for Hire" quest. After its completion, speak with Duchess to receive the prompt for this next major storyline quest.
Quest Objective
The primary objective of "Secrets Revealed" is to rescue the trapped Vault dwellers, specifically the surviving Secret Service agents. The Vault has been breached, and its security systems are compromised, leading to their imprisonment.
Background of the Mission
With Vault 79 breached and its cutting-edge security broken, the path to the gold is open. However, a group of United States Secret Service agents are trapped inside and require rescue. They are willing to trade access to the gold for their freedom.
Initial Steps in the Vault
Upon entering the Vault, immediately past the secure door in the barracks, you will find Slick and AC standing behind a Vault window. Other surviving Secret Service agents are also present in the room. After a brief interrogation, Slick and AC will enlist you and your team to help free the trapped agents from Vault 79, which they describe as a "death trap."
Reactivating Vault Systems
AC will use emergency power to open the doors to the reactor. Your team's task is to reactivate the reactor and power up the Vault's systems. This action is crucial for lifting the emergency lockdown and freeing the agents from the barracks.
Encountering Digger
Heading north through the newly opened door will lead you to Digger. Digger was ghoulified during a reactor malfunction that damaged the Vault's systems and turned most of the reactor crew into feral ghouls. Digger is the only one who has not turned feral. He explains that the only way to restart the reactor is to vent the radioactive air from the room.
Accessing Reactor Control
The entrance to the reactor control room is located in the northwestern corner of the chamber, accessible by going up the stairs. A Level 3 locked terminal on the left wall, near the left-hand entranceway, can be hacked to provide a shortcut to the control room. Once inside, you must hit the ventilation override button.
