Daily Quests & Repeatable Activities
Once you've ventured beyond the initial main quests and explored the vastness of Appalachia, you'll discover a wealth of daily quests and repeatable activities. These are your bread and butter for earning Caps, XP, legendary items, and valuable resources. Integrating these into your routine is crucial for character progression and maintaining a healthy supply of crafting materials.
General Daily Quest Strategy
Most daily quests reset 20 hours after completion, meaning you can typically complete them once per real-world day. Prioritize quests that offer rewards you specifically need, such as Treasury Notes for Gold Bullion, Legendary Scrip, or specific crafting components. Always check the rewards before committing!
Specific Repeatable Quests & Activities
Dailies from Factions
These quests are vital for reputation gains with the Settlers and Raiders, unlocking new vendors and powerful gear.
- The Crater (Raiders):
- "Vital Equipment": Speak to Wixon at Crater. You'll be sent to retrieve specific components from a random location. Expect to fight Scorched, Super Mutants, or other common enemies. The reward is Raider reputation and Caps.
- "From the Depths": Speak to Rocksy at Crater. She'll ask you to clear out a mine of specific creatures (e.g., Mole Miners, Ghouls) and collect ore. This is a good source of raw materials and Raider reputation.
- Foundation (Settlers):
- "Photo Opportunity": Speak to Daniel at Foundation. He'll ask you to take pictures of specific landmarks or creatures. This is often a low-combat quest, good for a quick Settler reputation boost and Caps.
- "Retirement Plan": Speak to Ward at Foundation. He'll send you to retrieve a stolen item from a random location, usually guarded by Blood Eagles or Cultists. Expect some combat. Rewards Settler reputation and Caps.
Miscellaneous Repeatable Quests
These quests are often found in the "Miscellaneous" section of your Pip-Boy and can be triggered by approaching specific locations or interacting with certain objects.
- "Tentative Plans" (Camden Park):
- Location: Camden Park, Ash Heap.
- Trigger: Speak to the Nuka-Cola Bot, Zed, near the entrance.
- Walkthrough: Zed will ask you to collect specific items around the park, such as Nuka-Cola bottles, toy cars, or clean up trash. The objectives are usually marked on your map. Be wary of Scorched and other creatures inhabiting the park.
- Rewards: Caps, XP, and often a random aid item.
- "Target Rich Environment" (Ohio River Adventures):
- Location: Ohio River Adventures, Forest region.
- Trigger: Speak to the robot, Duchess, or approach the area.
- Walkthrough: Duchess will task you with hunting down specific creatures in the surrounding area, typically Mirelurks or Grafton Monsters.
- Rewards: Caps, XP, and sometimes useful chems or food.
- "The Daily Dose" (Various Hospitals):
- Location: Randomly appears at various hospitals across Appalachia (e.g., Morgantown High School, Charleston Capitol Building).
- Trigger: Find a "Daily Dose" poster or holotape.
- Walkthrough: You'll be asked to collect specific medical supplies or administer doses to patients (often ghouls). Can involve combat.
- Rewards: Caps, XP, and medical supplies.
Public Events
Public Events are marked on your map with a yellow hexagon and appear every 20 minutes. They are excellent for group play, XP, and legendary items.
- "Feed the People" (Morgantown High School): Help prepare and deliver food.
- "Distant Thunder" (Ash Heap): Destroy Scorchbeast sonic generators.
- "Uranium Fever" (Blackwater Mine): Defend extractors from Mole Miners, often yielding 3-star legendary enemies.
- "One Violent Night" (Pleasant Valley Ski Resort): Help the Night Stalker play music to attract a legendary Wendigo.
- "Leader of the Pack" (Forest Region): Hunt down three legendary Alpha Wolf packs.
- "Scorched Earth" (Cranberry Bog, after launching a nuke): The ultimate endgame event, fighting the Scorchbeast Queen. Offers top-tier legendary rewards and fluxes.
Pro-Tip: Always join Public Events, even if you're under-leveled. The XP and potential legendary drops are invaluable, and other players will often carry the weight.
Vendor Cap Limits
Remember that all vendors share a daily Cap limit (typically 1400 Caps). Selling unwanted gear and purified water is a great way to hit this limit daily. Plan your sales across different vendors or factions to maximize your daily earnings.
