Cazador Encounters

Detailed strategies for surviving and defeating Cazadores in Fallout: New Vegas, including targeting wings and using Antivenom.

Location: Throughout the Mojave, especially near Red Rock Canyon and the northern pass from Goodsprings.

Strategy: Cazadores are notorious for their speed, agility, and potent poison. They can quickly overwhelm unprepared players.

  • Target Wings: In VATS, target their wings to cripple them. This will ground them, making them much easier to hit and significantly reducing their threat.
  • Automatic Weapons: Fast-firing automatic weapons (SMGs, Assault Carbines) are effective due to their high rate of fire, making it easier to hit their fast-moving bodies.
  • Shotguns: At close range, shotguns can be devastating.
  • Antivenom: Always carry Antivenom. Their poison can quickly drain your health.
  • Companions: Companions can draw aggro, allowing you to focus fire.
  • Chems: Jet can help you land shots on their fast-moving bodies. Med-X can reduce poison damage.

Weaknesses: Vulnerable to critical hits. Wings can be crippled. Explosives can be effective if they are grouped together.

Recommended Gear: Automatic weapons, shotguns, Antivenom, Stimpaks, Jet, Med-X.

Rewards: Cazador Poison Sac (can be used for crafting poisons).
