Companion Recruitment & Location Guide
The Mojave Wasteland is a dangerous place, but you don't have to face it alone. Fallout: New Vegas features several companions, each with their own unique skills, perks, and personal quests. Recruiting them can sificantly enhance your combat effectiveness and provide valuable assistance in exploring the vast world.
Arcade Gannon
Location: Old Mormon Fort, Freeside.
Specialty: Energy Weapons, Medicine.
Companion Perk: Better Healing (You gain 20% more health from all sources).
Personal Quest: 'For Auld Lang Syne'.
Arcade Gannon is a highly intelligent former Enclave scientist. To recruit him, you'll typically need to gain his trust by interacting with him at the Old Mormon Fort. His personal quest is complex and involves uncovering his past and the fate of his former comrades. He excels in combat with energy weapons and his medical knowledge can be a lifesaver.
Boone
Location: Novac, Dinky the T-Rex.
Specialty: Sniper Rifles, Perception.
Companion Perk: True Police Work (Gain +10 AP when aiming down sights with a scope).
Personal Quest: 'One for My Baby'.
Boone is a former NCR sniper haunted by his past. You can find him at Novac, often overlooking the town from the Dinky the T-Rex landmark. He's an expert marksman and invaluable for long-range engagements. His personal quest delves into his tragic history and offers a chance for closure.
ED-E
Location: Primm (initially), then Mojave Outpost and other locations.
Specialty: Repairs, Combat (Laser Gatling).
Companion Perk: Enhanced Sensors (Highlights enemies on your HUD).
ED-E is a unique Eyebot companion. You'll first encounter him in Primm. He's a versatile companion, capable of repairing your gear and providing combat support with his laser gatling. His perk sificantly aids in situational awareness, making it easier to spot threats.
Recruiting companions often involves completing specific tasks or gaining their favor. Always check their dialogue options for potential quests or recruitment opportunities. Remember that you can only have one human and one robotic companion active at a time.
