·Multi-source verified (52/52)

Enemy patrols are a constant threat in Far Cry 2, acting as mini-boss encounters that can quickly escalate. Phases:

  • Detection: Patrols can spot you from a distance. Your mini-map will show red indicators.
  • Engagement: You can choose to ambush, evade, or engage directly. Ambushing from cover with explosives or a sniper rifle is often effective.
  • Pursuit: If you engage and don't eliminate them quickly, patrols will pursue you, often calling for reinforcements.
Weaknesses: Vehicles are vulnerable to explosives and sustained gunfire. Drivers can be sniped. Patrols often follow predictable routes, allowing for ambushes. Rewards: Eliminating patrols provides small amounts of diamonds and ammunition. More importantly, it clears the immediate road, allowing for safer travel. However, patrols respawn, so this is a continuous challenge. Always be prepared for an encounter, even on roads you've recently cleared.
