Heavily fortified outposts serve as the closest thing to 'boss encounters' in Far Cry 2, requiring careful planning and execution. Phases:
- Reconnaissance: Before engaging, use your monocular to tag enemies, identify alarm panels, and locate explosive barrels or fuel tanks. Note patrol routes.
- Initial Engagement: Prioritize disabling alarms with a silenced weapon or by destroying the panel. This prevents reinforcements. Sniper rifles are excellent for picking off isolated targets.
- Infiltration/Assault: Choose your entry point. Stealth can clear a significant portion of the outpost before open combat. If going loud, use cover, grenades, and your buddy to draw fire.
- Cleanup: After neutralizing the main threat, search for any remaining enemies, diamond briefcases, and resupply points.
