Far Cry 2 employs a manual saving system, which can be unforgiving. You can only save your game at designated Safe Houses. These are scattered throughout the map and are marked by a small house icon. To save, simply enter a safe house and interact with the bed. Be aware that saving also advances time to the next morning. There is no auto-save feature outside of mission checkpoints, so make frequent use of safe houses, especially after completing challenging encounters or acquiring valuable items. For fast travel, you can utilize the Bus Stops found across the map. Interacting with a bus stop allows you to instantly travel to any other bus stop you have previously discovered. This is an essential tool for traversing the vast map efficiently, especially when needing to return to specific areas for missions or supplies. Remember to always save before attempting a risky mission or venturing into unknown territory.
