Colonel Sloan is the primary antagonist and the final boss of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. His battle is a multi-phase encounter that will test all your skills. He is heavily armored and uses several powerful attacks.
Phase 1: Direct Confrontation
Sloan will initially engage you directly, often wielding a powerful assault rifle or a heavy weapon. He moves quickly and can deal significant damage. Focus on maintaining distance and using cover. Aim for headshots, as these will deal the most damage, even through his armor. He might also throw grenades or call in a few standard Omega Force soldiers as distractions. Clear the soldiers quickly to refocus on Sloan. Use your Fazertron or Disintegrator for sustained damage, and don't hesitate to use grenades if he's behind cover.
Phase 2: Environmental Manipulation & Blood Dragon Summon
In this phase, Sloan might retreat to a more fortified position or activate environmental hazards. He often summons a Blood Dragon to attack you. This is your opportunity to turn the tables. If you have cyber-hearts, throw one towards Sloan or the Blood Dragon to make them fight each other. Alternatively, focus fire on the Blood Dragon's glowing brain to quickly dispatch it. While the Blood Dragon is active, Sloan might take potshots from a distance. Use the chaos to your advantage, either by letting the Blood Dragon soften Sloan up or by using the distraction to get close for a powerful attack.
Phase 3: Berserker Rage & Final Stand
Sloan will become more aggressive and desperate in his final phase. He might charge you with a powerful melee attack, use area-of-effect abilities, or become temporarily invulnerable while he recharges. Look for glowing weak points on his body or any environmental objects that can be destroyed to expose him. He might also try to flee to another section of the arena. Chase him down and unleash everything you have. The Killstar minigun or explosive arrows from the Bow are excellent choices for this phase. Keep moving, use your syringes liberally, and don't let up until his health bar is completely depleted. A final quick-time event or cinematic will conclude the battle.
