Beyond weapons, several key items and consumables are essential for Rex's survival and mission success. Managing these resources is crucial, especially during intense firefights or when exploring dangerous areas.
- Syringes: Your primary healing item. Press Q to use a syringe and restore a portion of your health. You can carry a limited number of syringes, so use them wisely. They are often found in medical kits or dropped by enemies.
- Armor Packs: Replenish your armor bar, which absorbs incoming damage before your health is affected. Armor packs are found throughout the environment, especially in Omega Force bases, or can be purchased at liberated outposts.
- Cyber-Hearts: These glowing blue hearts are dropped by defeated Omega Force soldiers (especially those with a blue aura). They are crucial for luring Blood Dragons. Throw a cyber-heart (G) to attract a Blood Dragon to a specific location, using them to clear out enemy positions or distract the creatures.
- Binoculars: Hold Z to equip your binoculars. Use them to scout enemy positions, tag targets, and identify alarm panels from a distance. Tagged enemies remain visible on your mini-map and through walls, providing a significant tactical advantage.
- Map: Press Tab to open your map. It displays your current location, mission objectives, liberated outposts, and discovered points of interest. Use it to plan your routes and track your progress.
Always keep an eye on your syringe and armor pack count. Running out of these vital consumables in a firefight can quickly lead to your demise. Cyber-hearts are a unique and powerful tactical tool, so don't underestimate their utility in turning the tide of battle.
