Breaching the Outer Defenses
The cult compound is heavily fortified, with multiple layers of defense desed to repel any assault. Your initial objective will be to breach the outer perimeter. We recommend approaching from the west, utilizing the dense tree line for cover. Look for a gap in the barbed wire fence near the overturned truck – this offers a less guarded entry point. Be aware of the sniper nests on the watchtowers; prioritize taking them out with a silenced sniper rifle or a well-placed arrow to avoid immediate detection.
- Tip: Bring a companion like Grace Armstrong for sniper support or Jess Black for stealth takedowns. Their abilities will be invaluable here.
- Enemy Types: Expect heavily armored Peggies with LMGs, snipers, and a few flamethrower units.
- Resource Check: Ensure you have full ammo for your primary weapons, plenty of healing kits, and a few Molotovs or grenades for clustered enemies.
Once inside the initial perimeter, you'll encounter patrol routes. Use your binoculars to tag enemies and plan your approach. A stealthy approach is highly recommended to conserve resources for the later, more intense engagements. Look for explosive barrels near enemy positions to create advantageous distractions or take out multiple foes simultaneously. There's a small armory shack to the north of the main gate; breaching it will yield additional ammo and a potential weapon upgrade.
Navigating the Inner Compound
After breaching the outer defenses, you'll find yourself in the main courtyard, which is a hotbed of enemy activity. Your primary goal here is to disable the anti-aircraft turrets that prevent air support. There are two turrets, one on the east side and one on the west. We suggest tackling the east turret first, as it's often less guarded. Use the various crates and abandoned vehicles for cover as you advance.
- Disable East Turret: Approach from the south, using the large storage containers for cover. Eliminate the two heavy gunners guarding it, then interact with the console to disable it.
- Disable West Turret: This turret is often protected by a mounted machine gun. Consider using a remote explosive or a well-aimed rocket to destroy the machine gun before engaging the turret's defenders.
- Secure the Courtyard: Once both turrets are down, the remaining Peggies in the courtyard will be more vulnerable. Call in air support if available to clear out any remaining resistance.
Keep an eye out for cult VIPs (marked with a star icon) as they often drop valuable perk magazines or crafting materials. There are also several weapon caches scattered throughout the inner compound, providing a good opportunity to resupply before the final confrontation. check the small buildings for additional supplies and potential intel that might reveal enemy positions.
