Understanding Fast Travel Points

Fast travel in Oros relies on specific locations you've discovered and secured. These points serve as your primary means of quickly moving across the map, saving you valuable time and resources that would otherwise be spent traversing on foot or beastback.

Types of Fast Travel Points:

Bonfires: These are the most common fast travel points. You'll encounter them frequently throughout Oros. To activate a bonfire for fast travel, you simply need to approach it and interact with it. Once activated, it will appear as a white bonfire icon on your map.
Outposts: Capturing Udam or Izila outposts not only expands your territory and provides resources but also converts them into fast travel points. These are often strategically located and offer a safe haven.
Your Village (Wenja Village): Your home base is always a fast travel option, allowing you to return to craft, upgrade, and manage your villagers.
Specific Story Locations: Certain key locations tied to main story missions or important side quests may also become fast travel points once discovered or completed.

How to Fast Travel:

Open your map (typically by pressing the 'M' key on PC, or the corresponding button on console).

A prompt will appear, usually indicating "Fast Travel" or "Travel to Location." Confirm your selection.
After a brief loading screen, you will arrive at your chosen destination.

Important Note: You cannot fast travel if you are currently in combat or if an enemy is actively pursuing you. Ensure you are in a safe, non-hostile area before attempting to fast travel.

Tips for Efficient Exploration:

Prioritize Bonfires and Outposts: When venturing into new territories, make it a priority to discover and activate any bonfires or capture any outposts you encounter. This creates a network of fast travel points, making subsequent trips to that area much quicker.
Utilize Your Owl: Your tamed Owl is an invaluable scouting tool. Send it ahead to reveal unexplored areas, mark enemies, and most importantly, pinpoint bonfires and outposts from a distance. This allows you to plan your route to activate them efficiently.
Follow Rivers and Roads: These natural pathways often lead to points of interest, including bonfires, resource nodes, and even enemy camps.
Collect Resources as You Go: While exploring, always be on the lookout for essential crafting materials like Hardwood, Slate, Reeds, and various animal hides. Gathering these passively will reduce the need for dedicated farming runs later.
Hunt for Specific Beasts: Keep an eye out for rare or powerful animals. Taming a new beast companion can significantly enhance your combat capabilities and exploration speed (e.g., a Sabretooth Tiger for faster travel).
Clear Fog of War: The more of the map you uncover, the better your understanding of Oros's layout and potential dangers. Don't be afraid to stray from the main path to reveal new areas.
Night Exploration: While more dangerous due to increased predator activity, exploring at night can sometimes reveal unique resources or opportunities. Always carry a Torch for light and protection.
