Your first year begins with a simple expedition to River Belle Path, a relatively safe area designed to introduce you to the game's mechanics. Your primary objective is to reach the end of the path and collect your first Myrrh drop. This area is populated by weak enemies like Goblins and Hornets. Focus on learning your character's basic attacks and how to use your racial ability. pick up any dropped items, as they will be useful for crafting later.
After River Belle Path, your next destination will be the Mushroom Forest. This dungeon introduces slightly tougher enemies, including the iconic Malboro. Be wary of its 'Bad Breath' attack, which can inflict multiple status ailments. The boss of Mushroom Forest is the Mushroom King. He's a large, slow-moving target. Focus your attacks on him while dodging his spore attacks. He's vulnerable to Fire magic. After defeating him, collect the Myrrh drop and return to your village. This completes your first year's expedition.
