Saving your game is paramount to a successful journey. In Final Fantasy I, you can only save your progress on the World Map or by using a Tent or Cabin item. Tents can be used on the World Map to save and restore a small amount of HP/MP. Cabins are more potent, fully restoring HP/MP and allowing a save. There are no save points within dungeons or towns, so always save before entering a new area or after a significant victory. Losing progress due to an unexpected defeat can be incredibly frustrating, so make saving a regular habit. Always keep a few Tents or Cabins on hand for emergencies.
