After the events in Mist, Cecil and Rydia will be forced to flee. Your next destination is the desert town of Kaipo. From Mist, head south and then east across the desert. Be aware that desert encounters can be slightly tougher than those in the Mist Cave, featuring enemies like Sand Worms. Rydia, being a Black Mage, is initially very weak to physical attacks but can cast powerful Black Magic spells like Fire. Use her magic to exploit enemy weaknesses. Upon reaching Kaipo, you'll find a safe haven. Explore the town, speak to the residents, and visit the Inn to rest and restore your HP/MP. You'll also encounter Rosa, who is gravely ill. This sets up your next major objective: finding the Sand Pearl in the Antlion's Den to cure her. Before leaving Kaipo, ensure both Cecil and Rydia are well-equipped and have a good stock of Potions and Phoenix Downs.
