Memoria and the Crystal World represent the culmination of your journey, a challenging ascent through the planet's memories and the very fabric of existence. This section will guide you through every perilous step, ensuring you're fully prepared for the ultimate confrontation.
Recommended Preparation & Party Setup
Before you even set foot in Memoria, ensure your party is at peak performance. The recommended minimum level is 70+, but closer to 80-90 will make the final boss encounters significantly more manageable. This is not a dungeon for the faint of heart or the underprepared.

Memoria Boss Strategies
These four bosses, known as the Four Fiends, must be defeated in sequence. They are powerful and will test your party's synergy.
1. Maliris (Fire Guardian)
- HP: ~59,000
- Weakness: Water, Ice
- Resistances: Fire
- Absorbs: None
- Strategy:
- Maliris primarily uses physical attacks and Fire-elemental magic (Firaga, Blazaga).
- Equip armor that resists Fire (e.g., Flame Mail, Minerva Plate).
- Use Vivi's Blizzaga/Waterga or Steiner's Ice Brand/Water Sword attacks. Dagger/Eiko's Shiva/Leviathan summons are also effective.
- Keep Shell active on your party to mitigate magical damage.
- Maliris can use Sword Arts, a powerful physical attack. Protect is useful.
2. Tiamat (Wind Guardian)
- HP: ~59,000
- Weakness: Wind (surprisingly, as it's a wind boss), Holy
- Resistances: None
- Absorbs: Wind
- Strategy:
- Tiamat uses powerful Wind-elemental attacks (Aeroga, Twister) and physical attacks.
- Its signature move, Snort, can remove a party member from battle. Equip Clear Headed to prevent Confusion, which can lead to Snort.
- Use Quina's White Wind for healing, and Vivi's Aero/Aeroga. Zidane's Soul Blade with a Wind-elemental weapon is also good.
- Dagger/Eiko's Garuda/Madeen summons are strong.
- Keep your HP high to survive Twister.
3. Kraken (Water Guardian)
- HP: ~60,000
- Weakness: Thunder, Fire
- Resistances: Water
- Absorbs: None
- Strategy:
- Kraken is accompanied by two tentacles, which can be attacked. Defeating them will prevent some of Kraken's multi-target attacks.
- Kraken uses Water-elemental attacks (Waterga, Freeze) and can inflict Freeze. Equip Body Temp.
- Focus fire with Vivi's Thundaga/Firaga. Steiner's Thunder Sword/Fire Sword.
- Dagger/Eiko's Ramuh/Ifrit summons are highly effective.
- Be wary of Waterga, which can hit hard. Shell is recommended.
4. Lich (Earth Guardian)
- HP: ~60,000
- Weakness: Holy, Wind
- Resistances: Earth, Dark
- Absorbs: None
- Strategy:
- Lich is a magic-user, primarily using Earth-elemental spells (Quake, Earth Shake) and status effects (Doom, Stop, Petrify).
- Equip Jelly to prevent Petrify and Clear Headed for Confusion.
- Use Holy-elemental attacks (Eiko's Holy, Madeen summon) or Wind-elemental spells (Vivi's Aeroga).
- Lich can cast Death, so ensure your characters have Auto-Life or Phoenix Pinion ready.
- Keep Shell active to reduce magical damage.
The Crystal World: The Final Gauntlet
After defeating Lich and saving your game, you will proceed to the Crystal World. There are no more save points after this! You must defeat a series of bosses consecutively. Prepare for the ultimate challenge.

- Boss: Trance Kuja (See Boss Strategies below)
- Boss: Necron (See Boss Strategies below)
Crystal World Boss Strategies
5. Deathguise
- HP: ~55,000
- Weakness: Holy
- Resistances: None
- Absorbs: None
- Strategy:
- Deathguise is a fast, physically strong enemy. It can use Meteor, which deals heavy non-elemental damage to all.
- It also has a powerful single-target physical attack. Keep Protect active.
- Focus on Holy-elemental attacks (Eiko's Holy, Madeen summon). Zidane's Thievery can deal massive damage if his steals are high.
- Use Vivi's strongest black magic.
- Keep your HP topped off, especially before Meteor. Auto-Regen is a lifesaver here.
6. Nova Dragon
- HP: ~60,000
- Weakness: Wind
- Resistances: None
- Absorbs: None
- Strategy:
- Nova Dragon is another physically powerful foe with devastating breath attacks.
- It can use Flare Star, a powerful magic attack that hits all.
- Focus on Wind-elemental attacks (Vivi's Aeroga, Dagger/Eiko's Garuda).
- Zidane's Thievery remains a strong option.
- Keep Shell active to mitigate Flare Star. Auto-Regen and Auto-Haste are crucial for this fight.
7. Trance Kuja
- HP: ~60,000
- Weakness: None (Neutral to all elements)
- Resistances: None
- Absorbs: None
- Strategy:
- This is a story-driven fight. Kuja will use powerful spells like Flare, Holy, and Ultima.
- He will also cast Curaga on himself, so you need to out-damage his healing.
- Focus on your strongest non-elemental attacks. Zidane's Thievery, Steiner's Shock, Vivi's Doomsday (if you have Reflect-Null), Amarant's Revive, Freya's Dragon's Crest, Quina's Frog Drop are all excellent.
- Keep Shell and Protect active. Auto-Life is highly recommended for your healers.
- Kuja will eventually cast Ultima, which will reduce all party members' HP to 1. Ensure your healer has a follow-up action (e.g., Curaga, White Wind) immediately after.
- The fight ends after a certain amount of damage or turns, regardless of his HP.
8. Necron (Final Boss)
- HP: ~54,000
- Weakness: None (Neutral to all elements)
- Resistances: None
- Absorbs: None
- Strategy:
- Necron is the true final boss. He has a wide array of devastating attacks.
- Grand Cross: His signature move, which inflicts a random combination of severe status effects (Petrify, Zombie, Mini, Silence, Darkness, Confusion, Poison, Slow, Stop, Doom, etc.) on all party members. This is why Ribbon and other status-protecting abilities are paramount.
- Flare, Holy, Meteor, Shell, Protect, Curaga: Necron will use these regularly.
- Blue Shockwave: Reduces one character's HP to 1.
- Neutron Ring: Heavy non-elemental damage to all.
- Strategy:
- Maintain Auto-Haste, Auto-Regen, Auto-Protect, and Auto-Shell. These are non-negotiable.
- Have a dedicated healer (Dagger or Eiko) ready to cast Curaga/Full-Life constantly.
- Use your strongest non-elemental attacks: Zidane's Thievery, Steiner's Shock, Vivi's Doomsday (with Reflect-Null), Amarant's Revive, Freya's Dragon's Crest, Quina's Frog Drop.
- If hit by Grand Cross, prioritize healing and removing critical status effects (especially Petrify, Stop, Doom). Use Remedies, Esuna, or Panacea.
- This is a battle of attrition. Keep your party alive, deal consistent damage, and eventually, Necron will fall.
With these strategies and preparations, you are now ready to face the ultimate challenges of Memoria and the Crystal World. Good luck, and may your journey conclude with a triumphant victory!
