How to Use This Bestiary

To get the most out of this section, follow these guidelines:

  • Consult Regularly: Before entering a new dungeon or facing a challenging boss, check the relevant entries to prepare your party's Jobs and equipment.
  • Focus on Weaknesses: Exploit elemental weaknesses (Fire, Ice, Lightning, Earth, Water, Wind, Holy, Dark) and status vulnerabilities (Poison, Silence, Blind, Sleep, Confuse, Petrify, Death) for quicker, more efficient battles.
  • Learn Blue Magic: Many powerful Blue Magic spells can only be learned from specific enemies. Our entries will highlight these opportunities.
  • Target Rare Drops: Some monsters carry valuable equipment or items. We'll tell you which ones and how to maximize your chances of obtaining them.

World 1 Bestiary

Tycoon Meteorite Area

Your journey begins near the Tycoon Meteorite. The monsters here are relatively weak, serving as an introduction to combat mechanics. Focus on learning the basics of the Freelancer and Monk Jobs.

  • Goblin
    • HP: 10
    • Weakness: None significant
    • Strategy: Standard physical attacks will suffice. They often appear in groups.
    • Drops: Potion (Common)
    • Learnable Abilities: None
  • Wing Raptor
    • HP: 20
    • Weakness: Wind
    • Strategy: While weak to Wind, you likely won't have access to Wind-elemental attacks yet. Physical attacks are still effective.
    • Drops: Potion (Common)
    • Learnable Abilities: None

Pirates' Hideout & Torna Canal

As you venture towards the Pirates' Hideout and through the Torna Canal, you'll encounter slightly tougher foes. This is a good time to start experimenting with the Knight and Black Mage Jobs.

  • Stingray
    • HP: 30
    • Weakness: Lightning
    • Strategy: If you've acquired the Thunder spell for your Black Mage, now's the time to use it! Otherwise, physical attacks work.
    • Drops: Antidote (Common)
    • Learnable Abilities: None
  • Garkimasra
    • HP: 45
    • Weakness: Fire
    • Strategy: These flying creatures can be a nuisance. A well-placed Fire spell from a Black Mage will make short work of them.
    • Drops: Tent (Rare)
    • Learnable Abilities: None
  • Sahagin
    • HP: 25
    • Weakness: Lightning
    • Strategy: Similar to Stingrays, they are vulnerable to Lightning. They can inflict status effects like Blind, so keep an Eye Drop handy.
    • Drops: Eye Drop (Common)
    • Learnable Abilities: None

Wind Shrine

The Wind Shrine introduces more challenging enemies and your first major boss encounter. Ensure your party is well-equipped and has a good grasp of their Job abilities.

  • Black Goblin
    • HP: 35
    • Weakness: None significant
    • Strategy: A stronger variant of the Goblin. Focus fire with your strongest physical and magical attacks.
    • Drops: Potion (Common), Broadsword (Rare)
    • Learnable Abilities: None

    • Drops: Phoenix Down (Common)
    • Learnable Abilities: None
  • Gargoyle
    • HP: 60
    • Weakness: Holy
    • Strategy: While Holy is their weakness, you won't have access to it yet. Focus on physical attacks and any available elemental spells. They can hit hard, so keep an eye on your HP.
    • Drops: Tent (Common), Mythril Sword (Rare)
    • Learnable Abilities: None

Ship Graveyard

The Ship Graveyard is a maze of sunken vessels and spectral enemies. The Monk's Barehanded ability and the White Mage's Cure spells will be invaluable here.

  • Zombie
    • HP: 50
    • Weakness: Fire, Holy
    • Strategy: Undead enemies are common here. Fire spells are highly effective. Alternatively, using a Phoenix Down or casting Cure on them will deal damage.
    • Drops: Phoenix Down (Common)
    • Learnable Abilities: None
  • Ghost
    • HP: 40
    • Weakness: Fire, Holy
    • Strategy: These ethereal foes are also undead. Fire and Holy magic are your best bets. Physical attacks are less effective unless you have a Knight with the "Two-Handed" ability.

    • Learnable Abilities: None
  • Soul Eater
    • HP: 70
