Notable Rare Items to Acquire:

  • Ribbon: Steal from Movers (World 3, Rift) or dropped by certain bosses. Provides immunity to almost all status effects.
  • Genji Armor/Shield/Helm/Gloves: Steal from various enemies in the Rift or found in chests. Some of the best defensive gear.
  • Elixirs: Steal from various bosses and powerful enemies. Always useful.
  • Dragon Fangs: Steal from Dragons. Used by the Chemist job.
  • Dark Matter: Steal from various enemies. Used by the Chemist job.
  • Chicken Knife / Brave Blade: Obtained from a side quest in World 3. The Chicken Knife is powerful if you run from battles, the Brave Blade if you never run.
  • Apollo's Harp: Steal from the final boss.

Always have a Thief in your party, especially during boss battles. Many bosses have unique and valuable items that can only be obtained by stealing. If you miss a steal, you can often try again by resetting the game (if you saved nearby) or by encountering the enemy again.
