Narshe (Prologue & Escaping Narshe)

- Recommended Purchases:
- Item Shop: Stock up on Potions and a few Phoenix Downs. You'll need them for the journey ahead.
- Weapon Shop: Upgrade Terra's weapon if available, and consider a new weapon for Locke if he's under-equipped. Look for items like the Dagger or Broadsword.
- Armor Shop: Purchase a Leather Shield and Leather Hat for Terra and Locke. Defense is key early on.
Figaro Castle
Figaro Castle, though a mobile fortress, also houses a vendor. Take advantage of this before departing for South Figaro.
- Location: Speak to the merchant near the engine room.
- Recommended Purchases:
- Item Shop: Replenish any Potions used during your escape from Narshe.
- Weapon/Armor: Check for any minor upgrades you might have missed or couldn't afford in Narshe.
South Figaro
After navigating the South Figaro Cave, you'll arrive in South Figaro. This town offers a more comprehensive selection of goods. This is a critical stop for upgrading your gear before tackling Mt. Kolts.
- Recommended Purchases:
- Item Shop: Ensure you have at least 5-7 Phoenix Downs and 10-15 Potions. Consider a few Antidotes if you're worried about poison in Mt. Kolts.
- Weapon Shop: Look for the Mythril Sword for Terra/Locke, and the Mythril Spear for Edgar. These are significant power boosts.
- Armor Shop: The Mythril Shield, Mythril Helm, and Mythril Vest are excellent defensive upgrades. Prioritize these for your front-line fighters.
- Relic Shop: If you have spare Gil, consider the Sprint Shoes (doubles movement speed on the world map) or the Hyper Wrist (boosts Vigor). The Sprint Shoes are a quality-of-life improvement that's well worth the investment.
Mt. Kolts Region
While Mt. Kolts itself doesn't have shops, the preceding towns are your last chance to prepare. Ensure you've followed the South Figaro recommendations before entering this dangerous area.
Strategy Tip: Always sell outdated equipment to free up inventory space and earn some extra Gil. However, be mindful of unique or rare items that might have future uses or be required for specific character builds.
