Final Fantasy VII Remake features a diverse cast of memorable characters, each with their own unique backstories, motivations, and combat styles. From the stoic ex-SOLDIER Cloud Strife to the fiery Tifa Lockhart and the wise Aerith Gainsborough, understanding each character's role and abilities is key to mastering the game's combat and narrative.

The main playable characters you'll control throughout the game are:

• Cloud Strife: The protagonist, a former SOLDIER mercenary with a mysterious past. He wields a Buster Sword and excels in balanced offense and defense, capable of powerful melee attacks and some magic. His unique abilities often focus on aggressive combos and stance changes.
• Barret Wallace: The leader of the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE. Barret wields a Gatling gun arm, making him a formidable ranged combatant. He can unleash rapid-fire shots and powerful charged attacks, making him ideal for dealing with flying enemies or keeping distance.
• Tifa Lockhart: A childhood friend of Cloud and a key member of AVALANCHE. Tifa is a martial artist who specializes in fast, close-quarters combat. Her abilities focus on building up stagger for enemies through rapid punches and kicks, making her a crucial damage dealer when an enemy is vulnerable.
• Aerith Gainsborough: A flower vendor from the Sector 5 slums and the last of the Cetra. In addition to the main party, Final Fantasy VII Remake introduces a host of supporting characters who play sificant roles in the story, including Jessie, Biggs, Wedge, and President Shinra. The DLC 'INTERmission' also introduces Yuffie Kisaragi, a playful ninja with a unique set of abilities focused on agility and elemental attacks.

Each character has their own set of unique abilities and Limit Breaks, powerful ultimate attacks that can be unleashed when their Limit gauge is full.
